FAQ's

The website is owned and operated by me (Neeraj Marathe), as a way of sharing my research. I am registered with SEBI as an Individual Research Analyst. I have been a full-time participant in the Indian Capital Market since 2002. I have worked with and learned from some of India’s accomplished investors. I continue to learn and hope to get better with time. I specialise in researching (fundamental) micro, small and midcap companies and special situations. I am also an ardent reader and student of Behavioural Finance. You can read some of my (quite old!) writings here. You can follow me on Twitter if you like to read stuff!

As a hobby/passion, I have taught in various B-schools as a Visiting Faculty since 2006, taking up subjects like Security Analysis, Portfolio Management and Behavioural Finance. I am also an active contributor at Flame Investment Lab

In this service, every year, the subscriber will get the following (along with full access to archives)

  • Annotated Annual Reports (50+): Annotated ARs massively cut down your AR analysis time as well as bring out positive or negative points which may have been missed. Annotated ARs therefore function as great idea generators or idea killers! (To get an idea of what an annotated AR is and whether it can be helpful to you, please refer to this detailed post on the topic, which also contains sample annotated ARs).
  • Company notes (12+): These are research notes on companies, providing a detailed and independent perspective and highlighting both positive as well as negative points (and their importance/ weightage), helping the reader to take an investment decision (or otherwise). There is no buy/sell recommendation given, this is pure research. To get an idea of what kind of research notes I write, please refer to the various notes I have written on my blog earlier using this link . This is not a standardised sell-side research service; so you will rarely see complicated excel models or unnecessary quarterly updates on companies covered.
  • The Majority of the research provided will be in the non-large cap space. Also, I have no expertise in Pharma and BFSI sectors, hence, if at all, there will be guest posts on these, vetted by me.
  • I do a 'Weekend Read' post in which I share interesting articles to read as well as important/significant BSE announcements during the week.
  • Book summaries, articles on investing & behavioural finance.
  • There will, of course be proper disclosures about my ownership in the stock.
  • Money managers, investment advisors who are driven by fundamental analysis.
  • Investors who like doing their own research too, before investing.
  • Full-time/prop investors who are research-driven.
  • People who want to become full time investors / want to seriously learn investing.
  • If you do not have the time or the ability or the inclination to read research notes.
  • If you want only buy/sell recommendations, which you will then simply execute.
  • If you exclusively invest only in large-caps or have irrelevant allocation and interest towards the non-large cap companies.
  • Expand the breadth as well as the depth of your own research.
  • Cost is a fraction of what it would take to hire even a fresher-analyst.
  • Idea generation as well as disconfirming evidence about ideas you like.
  • There are already plenty of good people providing this kind of service already, I do not know if I can add more value there.
  • It is my belief that there cannot be ONE model portfolio suitable to all types of investors with different risk appetite, different holding period and different return expectations.
  • Hence this service, where the base-level in-depth research can be used to take informed decisions as per one’s own preferences.
  • I do not provide any kind of portfolio advisory or money management service too.
  • I do not provide research on demand. Companies and sectors on which I post are selected by me.
  • I would gladly answer any and all questions about companies covered and even others if I know about them, through email.
    • Other than this service, my only other source of income is my own investments. I do not provide any other kind of service, nor do I have any financial relationships with any company/promoter/management.
    • My own buying/selling will be done as per SEBI regulations, with proper disclosures as and when required. I have no other conflict of interest.
SEBI Regulations prohibit free trials. If you want to know more details about the service before subscribing, kindly send me an email on neeraj@sentinelresearch.in
